COLLECTOR INFORMATION:
Alternate container(s): Plasma specimens collect 4-5 mL whole blood in EDTA or ACD tube or serum in Red Top NO SST!
Collection Volume: 2 mL, 0.5 minimum (Vitreous/ aqueous fluid no minimum)  
Special instructions: Acceptable specimen types: Vitreous/ aqueous fluid, CSF, tissue, urine, bone marrow in EDTA, amniotic, fecal, BAL, pleural, pericardial, trach aspirate, bronch wash, eye swab in sterile in 2 mL sterile saline, trach wash, saliva, plasma, serum.  Formalin Fixed, paraffin embedded tissue will NOT be accepted. 
LABORATORY USE ONLY:
Test volume: 2.0 mL, (0.5 minimum) No minimum for Vitreous/ aqueous fluid
 
Processing instructions: MUST BE IN A STERILE CONTAINER
Ship same day to Viracor.
Assay MUST be received WITHIN 96 HOURS OF SPECIMEN COLLECTION.
Trach aspirate, bronch wash, urine, bone marrow >96 hours old = freeze 
Vitreous/ aqueous fluid, amniotic, pleural, pericardial, CSF, BAL, fecal = freeze immediately 
SALIVA = SEE WEBSITE FOR COLLECTION INSTRUCTIONS 

Ship to Viracor: Refer to Viracor website for specific storage requirements if sample is rec'd after 5pm
Specimens received after 96 hours are NOT acceptable for testing if not frozen

Friday shipments must be labeled for Saturday delivery.
