Important Note

Tissues & Biopsies - Call lab to schedule a technologist to pick up the biopsy, 792-4556. After hours, page the Anatomic Pathology Resident on-call 792-0590, Beeper # 17009 or 792-2123.

Electron Microscopy (Renal):
- Includes: Transmission Electron Microscopic examination of tissue and photomicrographs
- Specimen: Renal Biopsy
- Container: Sterile Container with Glutaraldehyde
- Storage: Technologist will pick up biopsy as scheduled; See Special Instructions above. Specimen may be held refrigerated overnight or sent to FFL - EH 319 Children's Hospital.

Electron Microscopy (non-renal tissue and biopsy):
- Includes: Transmission electron microscopic examination of tissue & photomicrographs
- Specimen: All tissues submitted in Glutaraldehyde, unless otherwise instructed by the Lab, 792-4556. Tissue - Biopsies of Heart, Conjunctiva, Bone Marrow, Gastrointestinal tract, Oral Mucosa, Liver, Lung, Skin, Muscle, Nerve, Tumors, Tissue culture, Blood (Red and Lavender Top Tube) or other specimens requiring ultrastructural studies with histopathology.
- Container: Sterile container with Glutaraldehyde. NOTE: Sample placed in gluteraldehyde cannot be larger than 1.0 mm in any dimension
