Notes:

The laboratory will automatically reflex to an Immunofixation Electrophoresis if abnormal protein bands are suspected. A 24 hr urine collection is preferred, but a random specimen of at least 10 mL is acceptable.

Container:  Random Urine - Plain Sterile Cup/Container;

Volume:  Minimum 10 mL

Storage Instructions:

Send specimen to Lab after collection or refrigerate within 1-2 hours of collection.

Turnaround Time (TAT):

Results generally reported within two days after test is performed.
