Notes:
Endocervical Brush/Plastic Spatula Method: First obtain ectocervical sample using plastic spatula. Rinse spatula in PreservCyt Solution. Then obtain endocervical sample with brush device rotating the brush 1/4 to 1/2 turn in one direction. DO NOT over-rotate. Rinse brush vigorously in PreservCyt Solution properly labeled with patient identifier. Cytobroom Device Method: Insert central bristles of the broom into the endocervical canal deep enough to allow shorter bristles to fully contact the ectocervix. Rotate the broom in a clockwise direction five times. Rinse broom vigorously in PreservCyt Solution properly labeled with patient identifier.

Storage Instructions:
Send specimen to Lab ASAP. Maintain specimen at room temperature.
