Collection:
Specimen: Blood
Container: SST (Preferred), Lavender- top (EDTA) tube, or green-top (heparin) tube.
Volume: Serum/Plasma – 5 mL; Minimum 3 mL.
Processing Instructions:
Serum/plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum/plasma in a plastic transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Shipping/Handling Instructions:
On-campus collections: Tube to 99 or deliver to University Extension Hospital Room EH318. Send Frozen.
Off-campus collections:
Centrifuge and aliquot within 45 minutes. Specimen to be stored/transported frozen
