HSV 1 & 2 / VZV assay is an in vitro real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay for the qualitative detection and differentiation of Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1), Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV-2) and Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV).
HSV 1 & 2 / VZV assay is FDA approved for clinician-collected cutaneous or mucocutaneous lesion swab specimens.
Negative: The Versilia Zoster was Not detected
Positive: The Versilia Zoster was Detected.
Equivocal: Versilia Zoster status cannot be accurately determined. If clinically warranted, please submit another sample for testing.
