Collection:
Specimen: Blood
Container: Light Green W/Gel (Lithium Heparin) or SST.
Specimen Volume: 4 mL; Minimum 1.5 mL
Stability:
Specimens should stored at room temperature (15 to 30°C) prior to testing. Refrigerated specimens MUST be recentrifuged prior to analysis.

TBI: Negative
Interpretive Data:
A negative TBI test result is obtained only when both GFAP and UCH-L1 are below their respective assay cutoffs. A negative result is associated with the absence of acute intracranial lesions on head CT.
This test is intended for use only in adult patients, presenting within 12 hours of suspected mild TBI, defined as GCS score 13–15.
TBI is performed on the Abbott Diagnostics iSystem.
