Interpretive Data:
The HIV-1 RNA assay methodology is polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The PCR primers and partially double-stranded DNA probe targets two regions of the HIV-1 gene: the integrase region of the polymerase gene of HIV and the long terminal repeat (LTR) promoter. The linear range of this assay is between 10 and 10,000,000 copies/mL.
