Interpretive Data:
This test detects specific IgG to deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) and has a sensitivity for gluten sensitive enteropathy (celiac disease) of greater than 90% in patients with selective IgA deficiency. Antibodies to DPG decline when the patient is on a gluten free diet and increase when gluten is reintroduced in the diet. A definitive diagnosis of celiac disease should not be made on the findings of a single laboratory test.
