Collect sample 12 hrs after the last dose.

Specimen: Blood
Container: Plain Red Top Tube. Avoid the use of separator tubes and gels.
Volume: 5 mL; Minimum 1 mL
Pediatric Collection:
One Red microtainer filled to 600 uL.
Stability:
Once serum is separated from cells:
Ambient: 8 Hours
Refrigerated (preferred): 1 Week
Frozen: 2 Weeks
Turn Around Time (TAT):
STAT: 1 HOUR
Routine: 4 HOURS
Test Availability:
24 hours a day / 7 days a week / available STAT
Reference Interval:
Therapeutic: 0.6 – 1.2 mmol/L
Toxic level: > 1.8 mmol/L
