Test Code LAB2703 HLA Living Donor Workup

Notes:

Call HLA Lab 792-4311 in advance to schedule. Contact HLA Lab if patient is currently on steroids, chemotherapy, ATG, ALG or OKT3.

Collection:

Specimen: Blood

Container: Patient: Plain Red Top Tube. Do not use Serum Separator Tube. 
Donor : Yellow top tube (ACD)

Volume: Adult recipient: 1 tube (10 mL draw/tube); Pediatric recipient: 1 pediatric tube (At least 3 mL)
Adult donor: 3 tubes (10 mL draw/tube)

Storage Instructions:

Keep specimen at room temperature. Do not centrifuge. Send specimen by overnight delivery room temperature.

Turnaround Time (TAT):

Results reported immediately upon completion of test.

Test Availability:

Monday – Friday. Specimen MUST be in Lab by 8:00am each day.

Assay:

Adult recipient: 1 tube (7mL draw/tube); Pediatric recipient: 1 pediatric tube (3 mL draw/tube);
