Notes:
Call HLA Lab at 792-4311 in advance to schedule STAT testing. Contact Lab if patient is currently on ATG, ALG or OKT3 therapy. Post nephrectomy samples should be submitted 2 – 4 weeks post-nephrectomy. Samples and requests must be clearly marked post-nephrectomy.
Collection:
Specimen: Blood
Container: Plain Red Top Tube. Do not use serum separator tube.
Volume: Adult: 1 tube (10 mL draw/tube); Pediatric: 1 tube (at least 3 mL )
Storage Instructions:
Keep specimen at room temperature. Do not centrifuge. Send specimen by overnight delivery room temperature.
Turnaround Time (TAT):
10 days
Test Availability:
Monday – Friday; Specimen must be in lab by 8:00am to be tested STAT.
Assay:
Adult: 1 tube (7 mL draw/tube); Pediatric: 1 tube (3 mL draw/tube)
