Collection:
Specimen: Vaginal Swab
Container: Vial/Swab in ROM Plus kit. After collection, break off scored swab, securely cap collection container and affix patient identification label to the collection vial before tubing specimen to lab.
Stability:
Send specimen to lab immediately after collection.
Refrigerated: 6 Hours
Turn Around Time (TAT):
STAT: 1 HOUR

Interpretive Data:
Positive results with the ROM Plus® Test (Clinical Innovations, LLC) detects alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), placental protein 12 (PP12) and Insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1 (IGFBP-1) in vaginal fluid as markers for the detection of amniotic fluid. Results are not intended to be used as the only information for clinical diagnosis or management decisions.
