Container: Plain Red Top Tube, SST, Lavender-top (EDTA) tube, or Green-top (heparin) tube
Volume: 5 mL; Minimum 1 mL
Processing Instructions:
Serum/plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum/plasma in a plastic transport tube.
Shipping/Handling Instructions:
On-campus collections: Tube to 99 or deliver to University Extension Hospital Room EH318. Transfer to a plastic transport tube and FREEZE. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple test on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimen for each test requested, Frozen.
Off-campus collections: Centrifuge and aliquot within 1 hour. Specimen to be stored/transported frozen.
