Container: Serum Separator (preferred), Light Blue Sodium Citrate, Lithium Heparin Green w/ gel or Red Top Tube
Volume: SST, Lithium Heparin Green Lithium or Red top tube, minimum 1.5 mL. Blue top tubes, minimum 2.0 mL or 3.5 mL. Tube must be filled with the proper volume or specimen will be rejected
Pediatric Collection:
Two Gold, Green or Red microtainers filled to 600 uL.
Storage Instructions:
Specimen may be held overnight at Room Temperature. Refrigerate for storage beyond 12 hours. Serum may be stored for up to 7 days at 2-8C. For longer storage, serum must be frozen at -20 or colder.
Turnaround Time (TAT):
Results reported on day of testing.

Interpretive Data:
The Scientific and Standardization Subcommittee on Lupus Anticoagulants and Phospholipid-dependent Antibodies of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis recommends that positive (≥20) Cardiolipin and Beta-2 Glycoprotein 1 IgG and IgM APA assays be repeated in 12 weeks for confirmation.
