Interpretive Data:
EtG values between 100 and 499 ng/ml are consistent with recent alcohol use but not definitive. If low level use (1 or 2 standard drinks are consumed) more than 24 hours prior to collection, EtG levels might not be detected. Also, use of alcohol containing products (e.g. multiple use of mouthwash, hand sanitizers) may cause levels of EtG above 100 ng/ml. EtG values equal to or above 500 ng/ml are highly likely to be caused only by alcohol consumption. Higher and more recent alcohol consumption is likely to cause more positive and higher levels of EtG. This test procedure is not approved by the FDA and should be used with caution. Clinical correlation is necessary. Confirmation with more sophisticated tests is possible and available upon request. Clinical use only, not specific for medico-legal purposes.
